Options for Homeowners to Halt Foreclosure

Once a foreclosure begins, homeowners may still have a chance to stop the process.

In a non judicial foreclosure, California law allows about three months and twenty days before a sale is finalized.

During this time, the homeowner can cure the default by paying past due amounts along with any foreclosure related costs.

In many cases, this option remains available up to one week before the scheduled sale date, giving a final opportunity to bring the loan current and prevent loss of the property.
